Monthly PCB / MTD calculator
Estimates your Potongan Cukai Bulanan with a simplified annualised calculation for a resident employee earning a uniform salary throughout the year. Actual payroll may differ.
Scope: Malaysian/PR resident employee below 60, uniform salary and full ordinary child claims. Exempt allowances, other worker categories and payroll or accumulated-zakat adjustments are not modelled.
Basic salary before any deductions
Taxable allowances paid every month
Taxed as additional remuneration in the bonus month
Standard Malaysian/PR employee below 60: 11%. Other worker categories require different contribution treatment.
Default 13% (≤ RM5,000) / 12% (above)
Relief adjustments & zakat
Eligible annual TP1 amounts, including SOCSO/EIS if claimed; exclude individual, spouse, ordinary child and EPF amounts already applied.
Maximum RM4,000. Actual contributions, including bonus-month EPF, are capped by the engine. A lower override is allowed.
Deducted ringgit-for-ringgit from monthly PCB
How to estimate PCB and take-home pay
- Enter monthly salary, recurring taxable allowances and any annual bonus.
- Check employee and employer EPF rates, then enter your family profile.
- Add eligible annual reliefs declared to payroll and monthly zakat. Do not include EPF already counted by the calculator a second time.
- Read monthly PCB, employee deductions and take-home pay. Employer contributions are shown separately because they do not reduce your salary.
Assumptions and estimate limits
This is a simplified estimate for a resident employee with uniform salary across a full year. It does not use year-to-date pay, previous PCB or TP3 employment history. EPF, SOCSO and EIS contributions use percentage approximations, not the exact statutory wage-band tables. Actual payroll can differ, especially after a job change or irregular payments.
Examples: monthly PCB and take-home pay
